The Hundred Line Wiki
Last Defense Academy Gallery Gameplay

The Last Defense Academy is a mysterious academy in the middle of nowhere where Takumi Sumino and 14 other students were sent after making a deal with Sirei to protect the school for 100 days against the School Invaders.[1]

Layout[]

The Last Defense Academy is laid out like a regular school, with things like a cafeteria, classrooms and multiple floors. However, it also has more specialised rooms suited for its purpose, such as a room with VR training machines that can simulate battles incredibly realistically so the students can hone their skills. There are other rooms whose purpose is yet unclear, like a mysterious room full of simulation pods that don't work, and many other facilities.

Interior[]

Hallways[]

The three floors of the building all have their own hallways that look completely different from each other. 1F's hallways have green walls with Egyptian-themed relief paintings on them and similarly styled decorations in the hallways, sarcophagi among them. The dim lights on the ceiling share this color, and there are, for some reason, vines dangling from the ceiling. 2F's hallways are mainly reddish and orientally-themed. 3F's hallways emit a blue hue and have digital screens on the walls.

As different as they may seem, the hallways do share vertically-opening blast doors and display screens that run red when an enemy attack is imminent.

Bathrooms[]

All three floors of the building have two sets of bathroom on their north and south. Half of them are for the male students and the other half for the female ones. The bathroom has clean white floors, a large sink with three taps and a sizable mirror, and four bathroom stalls with plumbing surrounding them. A window provides extra lighting or an exit on the far side. The girl's bathrooms are off-limits to Takumi but are likely identical in layout, with the only difference being the dominating color.

1F (First Floor/Ground Floor)[]

Entrance Hall[]

The Entrance Hall is where the students enter and leave the academy building. The entire hall is yellow-themed and unnecessarily grand for the number of occupants. Two sets of what seem to be shoe lockers sit off to the sides, although none of the students ever remove or change their footwear upon entry. A box with a manual containing tips for exploration is on the floor near them. A giant rotating light shines the academic logo on the floor. Two plain pillars stand next to the colossal gate. Next to them are a set of gothic arches with Roman-styled marble statues inside. Their heads have been replaced by Sirei's visage. The gate itself is quite mechanical. A rose window sits on top of it, flanked by two display screens with the digital messages "Good luck in battle! (ゴ武運ヲ!)" and "didn't you forget anything? (忘レ物ハ有リマセンカ?)."

1F Classroom[]

Although it has the equipment to function as a classroom, the one on 1F remains largely unused. The room has a green digital "blackboard."

Cafeteria[]

1F's Cafeteria is where the students have their daily meals and their many discussions. The food they cook up with the Ration-O-Matic is stored in a colossal vault-like refrigerator in the back. The Candy-O-Magic machine is off to the right.

Gym[]

The Gym is a large hall where the students can gather for group trainings. It is also suitable to host large bivouacs and festivals. The academy's logo has been emblazoned in the middle of the wooden floor. There is also a stage further back.

Metal Shop[]

The Metal Shop appears like an armory filled with stockpiles of artillery shells. The students can use this room to work on their weapons or new ones.

Strange Room[]

The Strange Room contains over a dozen pods that can house a human being. Since it can be locked from the outside, this room can be used as a containment cell as well.

Garage[]

Although called a "Garage," this room is meant as an R&D site where students, mainly Tsubasa, can craft pivotal inventions.

Parking Lot[]

The Parking Lot is an internal hall where the academy's school bus is parked and can be modified. It houses many spare parts and tools. In many routes, Tsubasa frequents the parking lot to work on the school bus.

2F (Second Floor)[]

2F Classroom[]

The classroom on 2F is the main classroom of the academy. It has enough seats and tables for all 15 students simultaneously and a stand for Sirei to monologue. The "blackboard" is blue and entirely digital. The countdown display hangs a little above the board, depicting how many days remain until the end. The large window with an external view is on the left side. This is the first room the original 10 students of the academy find themselves in.

Training Room[]

The Training Room is filled with VR training machines that can simulate battles incredibly realistically so the students can hone their skills without actual danger. The so-called VR machines appear more like classic arcade machines from human history.

Courtyard[]

The Courtyard is a vast, open-air simulation space located at the core of 2F. Though it resembles a natural outdoor setting or a picturesque garden, the Courtyard is entirely artificial and enclosed within the academy's interior structure. In the middle of the serene environment are two cages, both able to hold prisoners. The only fauna here takes form as giant butterflies that glow blue.

Bio Lab[]

The Bio Lab is where the students can create stimulants and drugs for combat use. The room has shelves full of chemicals, models of human anatomy, and human organs or replicas thereof drifting in vats of fluid. It also features a section for emergency surgeries. Yugamu frequents this place.

Library[]

The two-storage archaic-looking Library is where the students can spend their time in study. In the room's dim lighting, the shelves are filled with books on a plethora of subjects, including human history and information on School Invaders. Several ladders are provided for higher shelves. Other notable features are a desktop computer in the middle, an 18+ section behind a curtain, and a celestial globe spinning from the ceiling.

Morgue[]

The Morgue is where the corpses of students that have suffered injuries beyond any recovery are kept in cold storage before receiving a proper funeral. The low temperature in the room keeps the corpses from decaying for much longer than normal. While it largely appears just like the other classrooms, the fifteen single desks have been replaced by 15 quadruple desks to lay the corpses on. The entire room emits a red hue, largely due to the glowing red "blackboard."

3F (Third Floor)[]

3F Classroom[]

There is also an identical classroom on 3F with a purple digital "blackboard." The room shares its purple hue.

Infirmary[]

Whenever a student suffers lethal injuries from battle or something else, the Corpse Recovery Drone picks the fresh corpse up and hauls it to the Infirmary at once. There, the almost magical Revive-O-Matic reverses death and revives the student to a pre-mortum state, provided not too much time has elapsed since the time of death and the corpse has not lost all its cryptoglobin.

War Room[]

Whenever the School Invaders storm the academy's periphery en masse, the students assemble in the War Room for a situation report or pre-battle planning before launching to the frontlines via the launchpads to the left. The screens on the main computer in the middle of the room can accurately depict footage from the academy exterior, and the room itself houses the Defense System, the power source and Achilles heel of the entire academy.

Defense Room[]

The Defense Room holds the mysterious object the students are tasked with defending 100 days. Its antechamber is largely coated in matte black metal platings, and the colossal gates leading toward the inner chamber has undying flames as its barrier. The academy's logo is emblazoned on the gate.

Rec Room[]

The Recreation Room ("rec room" for short) is a zone for recreation for the students during their free time. Although it includes dartboards, slot machines, mahjong tables, and other gambling devices typical for a casino, the most significant infrastructure here is the Gift-O-Matic, used to create just about anything the students can think of or need.

Leisure Lounge[]

The Leisure Lounge is a zone for the students to relax in. It contains a small gym section with workout equipment and a large pool, while the surroundings largely simulate a beach resort. The lounge is mainly used to host occasional pool parties.

Roof[]

Dorms[]

Despite the students having to stay there for 100 days, with there being special screens that show how many days remain, it does not seem to have been originally constructed with the intention of students actually living there, as there are no pre-constructed dorm rooms. Instead, the students live in more temporary-looking prefab huts placed on the roof. There is one for each student, and each "decorates" their own to their style. Personal decors aside, all dorms include at least a bed, a desk with an office chair, a couch, a low table on a carpet, a locker, garbage cans, and a considerably large shower.

Missile Launch Platforms[]

The four towers and sections surrounding the accessible parts of the roof house missiles filled with undying flames. If everything goes to plan, all missiles will be filled up and ready for launch on Day 100. Before noon on the same day, they will launch from the roof and deliver a planet-wide exterminatus upon the world, wiping out all school invaders.

Underground[]

Basement Hidden Room[]
Pod Hangar[]

Exterior[]

The academy is completely surrounded by a ring of pink flames known as the Undying Flames, which cannot be extinguished. This fire keeps the students trapped in the school and prevents most other beings from entering the area, but recently the school invaders and commanders developed a technique that allows them to frequently cross over and attack the students and school to retrieve a "special something" that Sirei claims they will use to destroy humanity. But the characters have no idea why they are targeting this school or what lies within it. [2] [3]

The academic building's immediate surroundings comprise of a running track, football field, tennis courts, and a parking lot, although their only purpose is to provide fronts for battle.
