Kako is a teenage girl with light pink-purple hair and soft pink eyes. Her hair is tied into two knotted-pigtails and has a black bow headband with white pearls scattered on the bow on her head. She wears a red and black sailor uniform with a white bow in the center, with white tights and black loafers.

Personality[]
"One of a set of twins - Kako is the younger by a few minutes. She's prone to spacing out, but also has a keen mind and a healthy sense of curiosity. Kako is a big fan of mystery stories and wants to be a private investigator when she grows up." - Official Website Description
Kako is the younger Tsukumo twin by a few minutes. She's a gentle, kind-hearted girl who's easily flustered, especially when her brother expresses his extreme love for her in an over-the-top manner, which often leaves her embarrassed and overwhelmed.
She is prone to spacing out, often lost in her thoughts. Despite Kako's occasional airheadedness, her intelligence shines when it comes to mysteries and is driven to seek answers—even if her love for puzzles sometimes conflicts with her cautious nature. She's fascinated by technology and anything new, which is evident in her interest in Sirei’s special eyes. She dreams of becoming a private investigator one day, drawn to the idea of solving puzzles and uncovering hidden truths.
Name Etymology[]
Her given name consists of the kanji 過 (ka), meaning "mistake" or "to overdo," and 子 (ko), meaning "child." Phonetically, her given name sounds like 過去 (kako), which means "the past." Her surname (九十九), meaning "ninety-nine," is written with the kanji 九 (tsu) for "nine," 十 (ku) for "ten," and 九 (mo) again.
History[]
Early Life[]
Kako and Ima had a rough upbringing which she prefers not to think back on, for example having so little to eat at times that they had to search the grounds of their school for food. She was very close with her brother, to the extent that it was the norm for them to share a room together.
According to Ima, they did have relatives that were able to take them in. However, due to their own negligence and greed, Ima and Kako swore to never trust anybody ever again.
Kako admires her father to a large extent. Before his late passing, her father worked as a professional detective. His work inspired his daughter to such a large degree that she couldn't help but want to be like him when she grew older.
Enrollment in the Last Defense Academy[]
Ability[]
Clairvoyance[]
Kako possesses a mysterious power of clairvoyance, manifesting in the form of sudden, involuntary visions. These glimpses often reveal crucial insights—sometimes offering fragments of the future or unraveling hidden truths. While undeniably helpful, the ability activates at unpredictable times and without her control, occasionally startling her or those around her. This power has been with Kako since childhood, first emerging during moments of intense emotion or danger. Though she has grown accustomed to it over the years, Kako sometimes wishes she could command it at will—especially when a critical moment demands clarity. Despite its unpredictability, clairvoyance has no negative side effects and serves as a vital asset in her personal investigations and within the Last Defense Academy.
Relationships[]
Ima Tsukumo[]
Ima is Kako's older twin brother. Kako and Ima share a deep and unbreakable bond, forged through the hardships they endured together. Having grown up without proper parental figures, they often struggled to survive, particularly during times when they lacked food. This harsh upbringing reinforced their dependence on each other, making their sibling relationship one of the strongest in their lives.
Despite their occasional differences, the twins genuinely care for one another and rely on each other in times of need. Ima is fiercely protective of Kako, while she, in turn, worries about him—even if she hesitates to put herself in harm’s way.
However, their relationship isn’t without its quirks. Ima’s tendency to express his love for Kako in an overly affectionate and extreme manner often leaves her flustered and embarrassed. While she appreciates his devotion, she can’t help but feel slightly overwhelmed whenever he showers her with excessive praise or dramatic declarations of sibling love.
