It's a crime that the word could possibly be used to describe anyone else. It should belong to her, and her alone!
-- Official Website [1]
Ima Tsukumo (Tsukumo Ima 九十九 今馬) is a student in the 2025 JRPG The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-.
Appearance[]
Ima is a short boy that has shoulder-length indigo hair with white undertones, as well as grey-toned pink eyes, and appears to have multiple piercings. He wears a red gakuran with black buttons and a black collar.
The numeral on his Hemoanima uniform's armband is 柒 ("seven").
Personality[]
"One of a set of twins - Ima is the elder by a few minutes. He acts like a carefree joker, but underneath that humor is a hint of something darker. A hardcore siscon, he thinks of nothing but protecting his sister. If anything or anyone dares to threaten Kako's safety, Ima will show them no mercy." - Official Website Description[3]
Ima shows an extreme devotion to his sister to the point of enduring any amount of pain for her sake and inflicts whatever brutality he sees fit should Kako's livelihood be threatened. Everything else outside of that isn't a priority. Initially, Ima disapproves of Kako fighting alongside her fellow students, as he doesn't want to see her hurt, but eventually relents to join the fight alongside her thanks to Takumi's persuasion. Ima doesn't truly care for the situation he's put in, as long as the other students are defending the school adequately.
Ima and Kako are confirmed to be 15 year-old third-years in junior high, making them the youngest students among the rest of the group. As such, Ima addresses his fellow students in a respectful and polite manner, referring them as "Mr./Miss." and using their surnames, being one of the few characters to do so. Ima is also shown to be intelligent, as he's able to notice important things that go over other people's heads, such as that Sirei's morning and night-time announcements are pre-recorded, or noting the peculiarity that, despite everyone coming from the same place, none of them have ever run into each other.
Name Etymology[]
Ima's name contains the kanji of "now, another"(今 ,i) and "horse" (馬, ma). This phonetically sounds like 今 (ima), which means "the present". His surname (九十九), Tsukumo, means "ninety-nine" and is written with the kanji for "nine" (九, tsu), "ten" (十 , ku) and "nine" again (九, mo).
History[]
Early Life[]
From a young age, Ima and Kako had to learn how to fend for themselves. Due to their parents passing, Ima had grown up with the obligation to take care of and protect Kako. Due to their situation, the two often would beg for money or even go dumpster diving.
According to Ima, they did have relatives that were able to take them in. However, due to their own negligence and greed, Ima and Kako swore to never trust anybody ever again.
In the Tokyo Residential Complex, Ima was a 'master in the art of love'.
Due to his odd jobs and circumstances, Ima has been to bars and even knows how to maneuver vehicles.
Enrollment in the Last Defense Academy[]
Relationships[]
Kako Tsukumo[]
Kako is Ima's younger twin sister. Due to his overprotectiveness, Ima comes off as overbearing and a tad bit obsessive, much to Kako's dismay. However, after being told off for his behavior, both twins have a mutual respect for each other, and would be willing to do anything for one another.
